About Me

Photography is my passion. Producing photos and videos like this is both a professional and personal journey, a way to connect with people, the land, to open my eyes to new cultures, perspectives, and myself to others. To be vulnerable through the viewfinder.

I grew up on the rainy side of Washington State near Olympic National Park, a camera in my hand adventuring throughout the Washington Cascades. Soccer was my outlet, my savior, through a dysfunctional childhood. It was not until I escaped to Montana State University - Bozeman in the late 1990's as a wide eyed youngster that I discovered climbing, skiing and the adventure lifestyle. I had found my tribe.

Gaining seasonal employment as a ski patroller and mountain guide while paying for university furthered my outdoor education and developed my skills to work in the outdoor industry for brands to tell stories.

My current workflow is 40% cinematography and 60% photography. I love working with start-ups and medium size businesses in the outdoor industry because I value long term partnerships of adventure. I live in Bozeman, Montana with my wife Anne Gilbert Chase and our young son, Stone Wilder.

Besides, all the adrenaline activities I love cooking, reading and gardening. My favorite recent book was: The Creative Act: A Way Of Being by Rick Rubin
